Terms of use
In short: your photos stay yours, you upload only photos you're allowed to animate, you pay once through Paddle, and if the film didn't move you, you get your money back.
Who we are
Glim (glim.co.il) turns family photos into short animations and one film with an opening, music and captions. The service is run by CodePal.AI, an Israeli licensed dealer (osek murshe), no. 205666134, Hoshen 10, Ness Ziona, owned by Tomer Gal (“Glim”, “we” or “us”).
These terms, together with the privacy policy, the cancellations and refunds policy and the cookie policy, are the agreement between you and Glim for using the site glim.co.il and the app app.glim.co.il. Signing up for or using the service means you accept them. This English text is a translation for convenience; the Hebrew terms prevail.
What the service does and what you get
You upload photos, choose a style and a shape, and AI turns each photo (or, in the growing-up style, each pair of neighbouring photos) into an animation of about five seconds. Then you join the animations into one film with an opening, an ending, music and captions, and download or share it.
- One film as a video file (MP4) in Full HD, in the shape you choose: 16:9 for a projector, square 1:1 or vertical 9:16. Download it as many times as you like.
- An AI opening: one of your photos is set in a scene you choose from a fixed list (an old projector screen, a chuppah, candlelight, balloons and more), and the people in it come alive, with a smile or a glance, and stay as they are.
- A viewing link to share with the family.
- With the event pack: versions for Status and the feed, a download page for the DJ and a QR card to print.
- A personal song, in the packages that include it or as an add-on.
Everything bought in the app, through Paddle, is digital and delivered in your account, with nothing shipped.
An animation is an AI model's interpretation of a photo. Sometimes a movement won't look natural or a detail in a face will change. That's why there are free retries, an identity check and a content check after every animation, and an automatic return of the animation when a creation fails or a check stops it. We don't promise a particular result, but we'll help until you have a film you're happy with.
What Glim doesn't do: it doesn't swap faces, doesn't add anyone who wasn't in the photo, doesn't clone voices and doesn't put words in anyone's mouth. The animation adds gentle movement to the people who are already in your photos.
Your account and age
- The service is for people aged 18 or over. Anyone younger can't open an account.
- You sign up with an e-mail address and password, or with a Google account. Give accurate details and keep your password and your mailbox safe, because that's how a password is reset.
- One account per person. Don't open more accounts to get the free trial or a benefit again.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account. If you suspect someone else got in, write to us right away.
Consent of the people in the photos
Upload only photos you're allowed to use, and only with consent to animate the people in them:
- Adults: with their consent.
- Children and teenagers under 18: only a parent or guardian, or someone they have authorised.
- People who have passed away: with the consent of their close family.
You confirm this in the app before anything is made from the photos (an animation or an AI opening), and we keep the confirmation, its time and the wording you confirmed. Anyone who appears in a photo, or a relative of someone who has died, can ask us to remove it, as described under reports and removal.
What's not allowed
- Uploading photos of people without consent, of strangers, or of public figures and celebrities who aren't your family.
- Creating content that impersonates someone, presents something that didn't happen as if it did (a deepfake), or is meant to mislead, harass, shame, extort or harm anyone's reputation.
- Nudity and sexual content. Content that exploits or endangers minors is forbidden in every case, and we will report it to the authorities.
- Graphic violence, incitement, racism, offensive content, or content that encourages self-harm.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy or anyone else's rights.
- Getting around the checks, overloading the system, driving it with automated tools, accessing other people's accounts, or abusing the free trial, referrals and benefits.
Every photo goes through an automatic check before an animation or an AI opening is made from it. A photo that is stopped isn't sent for creation and the animation isn't charged. Sometimes a person on our team reviews a stopped photo or reported content. Breaking these rules can lead to the content being removed and the account suspended, as described under suspension.
Reports, removal and copyright
Did you see a film or link showing you, your children or a relative who has died, without consent? Or content that infringes your rights? Write to hello@glim.co.il and include:
- the link to the content, or a description that lets us find it;
- who you are and how you're connected to the photo or the work;
- what the problem is, and for a copyright complaint, which work of yours was copied;
- a statement that the details are true and that you own the right or are authorised to act for its owner.
We'll disable the link promptly and look into it. If there's a dispute, we'll contact the person who uploaded the content, who can respond and explain why they're allowed to use it. Content found to infringe will be removed. We don't review every photo by eye in advance, and the person who uploaded content is responsible for it.
Your photos and films
- The photos you uploaded, the captions and texts you wrote, and the animations and films made from them are yours. Glim claims no ownership of them.
- To provide the service you give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, process, copy and modify the content (for example to crop, resize and animate it), and to pass it to the providers listed in the privacy policy, only to create the results, keep them, and show them to you and to whoever you share them with. The permission ends when you delete the content or the account.
- We don't train models on your content, don't sell it, and don't use it in marketing unless you agree to that expressly and separately. What the AI providers may do with what reaches them is set out in the privacy policy.
- Wrote us a few words about your film and ticked that we may publish them? You give us a royalty-free permission to publish them on the Glim website, as written or shortened and with light spelling fixes, with your name as you chose (full, first name only, or none) and the kind of occasion. We read every testimonial before it goes up, and give nothing in exchange for one. You can ask us to take it down at any time, and it comes off the site at once when you close your account. Without the tick, your words stay with us.
- The Glim name, logo, design, code and the texts on the site and in the app belong to CodePal.AI. Don't copy or use them without permission.
Music, songs and audio
- Music from our library is licensed for use in the film: for private viewing, sharing with family and screening at an event. Don't take it out of the film and use it on its own.
- The personal song is written and sung with AI, in an AI-generated voice, not the voice of a real person. You get a licence for personal use: in the film, at private screenings, at events and when sharing with family and friends. The licence doesn't transfer ownership of the song and doesn't cover commercial use such as advertising, selling or distributing it on streaming services. We don't promise that the song is unique or unlike other works.
- Uploading your own music or recording? You confirm you have the right to use it in the film and play it. Buying a song or subscribing to a streaming service doesn't give you that right. Playing it in public at a venue may need a licence from ACUM or a similar body, which the venue usually holds. If someone claims the audio infringes their rights, we may remove it from the film.
Prices and payment
- Your first animation is free, with no credit card.
- Packages are sold as one payment by the length of the film (12 animations per minute), with no subscription and no recurring charges. Every package includes a bank of retries equal to its number of animations. Prices are shown on the home page and in the app before you pay, in shekels (and in US dollars outside Israel), and the price shown is the final price.
- An animation is reserved before creation and charged only when it's ready. A creation that fails or is stopped by the check returns the animation to your balance automatically.
- Only a few animations or retries short? You can add exactly what's missing, at the price per unit shown in the app before you pay. Each such animation comes with a retry of its own.
- You can also buy before signing up. The receipt goes to the e-mail address you gave at checkout, and the purchase waits for that address: it moves into the account that signs up with it and confirms it.
- Animations you bought don't expire. Joining the film and editing it again don't cost animations.
- A discount from a friend's link applies to the first purchase. An offer is valid until the time it shows, and a personal offer in the app can be used once, by the account it was made for, until the time it shows. When two discounts apply you get the higher one; they don't add up.
- Benefits for referring friends or for a public post are given under the rules in the app, once per account and after a check. Such a post must reflect your honest opinion and say that you got a benefit for it. A benefit obtained by deception will be cancelled.
- A code you received, for example from an event vendor, gives what it says, can be used once, and can't be exchanged for cash.
Paddle, the merchant of record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle processes the payment, is responsible for the tax on the sale, e-mails you the receipt and processes refunds. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms and its refund policy, and nothing in them reduces your rights under our cancellations and refunds policy or the law.
- Your card details go to Paddle only and never reach us.
- The charge usually appears on your card statement as PADDLE.NET* CODEPAL AI, after CodePal.AI, the company that runs Glim.
- Paddle's receipt is the sales document. Glim doesn't issue a separate invoice for such a sale.
- For a question about a charge or a receipt, contact us or Paddle at paddle.net.
Cancellations and refunds
A failed creation returns the animation to your balance automatically. Not moved? You can ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, with no reason needed. On top of that, you have the right to cancel under the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, within 14 days. The details, and how to reach us, are in the cancellations and refunds policy.
Sharing
A share link, to a film or to a single animation, opens for anyone who has it, so share it only with people you want to. You can stop sharing at any time, and deleting a film, an animation or the account disables its links. We have no control over copies already downloaded or sent to others, and sharing them is your responsibility.
You can also invite photos into a project: a QR code for uploading from your own phone, open for 30 minutes, or a link to send to family, open for 14 days. Anyone with such a link can send photos to the project, so send it only to people you trust. You can stop it at any time. Whoever sends photos through a link undertakes to send only photos they may share. The photos family send wait for you to decide on them, and a photo you add to the film is your responsibility, like any photo you uploaded yourself, including the consent of the people in it.
Availability and changes to the service
We make a reasonable effort to keep the service available and your files safe, but there may be outages, provider faults and delays in creation. It's worth making the film a few days before the event and downloading a copy. We may change, add or remove features. If we decide to shut the service down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can download your films, and refund the proportional price of animations you bought and didn't use.
Liability
- The service is provided as is. We don't promise every animation will come out as you imagined, but there are retries and refunds as described above.
- We won't be liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as a lost opportunity or distress caused by a delay before an event, to the extent the law allows.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, to the extent the law allows.
- If you break these terms, for example by uploading a photo without consent or music without the right, and a demand or claim is brought against us because of it, you'll indemnify us for the damage and reasonable costs we incur, to the extent the law allows.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or reduces your rights under the Consumer Protection Law.
Suspension and closing an account
You can close your account at any time from the account page in the app. We may remove content, stop a creation, or suspend or close an account if these terms were broken, if there's a reasonable suspicion of fraud or abuse, or if the law requires it. We'll tell you and explain why, unless the law or a risk of harm to others prevents it, and you can respond and ask us to look again. When an account is closed for a breach, any refund is decided under the cancellations and refunds policy and the law.
Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top will change. We'll announce a material change by e-mail or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. A change won't apply to a purchase already made. If you don't agree to a change, you can stop using the service and close your account.
Governing law and jurisdiction
Israeli law governs these terms and the use of the service. The competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction, without limiting a consumer's right to sue where the law allows.
General
- The Hebrew text of these terms prevails. The English text is a translation for convenience.
- If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in force.
- Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it.
- You can't transfer your account to someone else. We may transfer the running of the service to another entity, with prior notice and without harming your rights under these terms.
- Notices to you are sent to the e-mail address on the account or shown in the app.
- The assistant in the app answers with AI, and can be wrong. Its answers are general help; what governs is the terms and policies on the site. You can ask for a person from the team to take over the conversation at any point.
