Accessibility statement
We want every member of the family to be able to use Glim, including people with disabilities and parents and grandparents with an enlarged screen.
The standard
The site glim.co.il was built to Israeli Standard 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0 level AA), and in practice to WCAG 2.2 level AA. The app has its own accessibility statement.
What we did on the site
- Hebrew right to left on the Hebrew pages and English left to right on the English ones, with the language and direction set for the whole document and an orderly heading structure.
- Full keyboard use: a skip-to-content link, a clearly visible focus, and a menu that closes with Escape.
- AA colour contrast on the dark ground, and text that scales to 200% without losing content.
- Every clip has a text description of what happens in it, and the clips are silent. Any playing clip can be paused.
- People who asked their operating system for reduced motion get still pictures instead of clips and no motion on scroll.
- The site sets no cookies and opens no pop-ups over the content.
What isn't perfect yet
- The example clips show motion only; their description appears as text next to each one.
